The conference will kick off with an opening ceremony to welcome faculty and delegates from both China and abroad. The ceremony will include welcome speeches by distinguished university faculty, an introduction to the Secretariat team, and an address by a prominent external speaker. This event will discuss the conference’s theme and highlight the rise of China on the international stage and the impact it may have on the world moving forward.
The events team will be working to host fun and educational activities in between the committee sessions to add to the experience of this conference. Possible events include workshops hosted by different departments of the NYUSHMUNC Organizing Team, art and music festivals and a mini culture expo. NYUSHMUNC will also feature a guest speaker series involving companies from the technology and financial sectors, as well as distinguished individuals in prominent social fields such as refugee work, education, and women’s rights.
Delegates will be invited to the main social event on the evening of Saturday, November 4, 2017. The event will give delegates an evening to socialize, enjoy great food, and dancing. Delegates and attendees will have the opportunity to listen to speeches by sponsors and members of university faculty. The event will take place in one of Shanghai’s most elegant venues, one that is iconic of the city’s role in China’s rapid emergence.
The closing ceremony will take place on the final day of the conference after the last committee session. The event will consist of an awards ceremony recognizing the special talents of individuals throughout the duration of the conference, and students will also hear closing remarks from university faculty and other guests.
